About Us
The Largest Student-Run Investment Fund in Switzerland
A real portfolio, managed by passionate UNIL and EPFL students since 2019.
Our Mission
Who we are
Investment Society Lausanne is a student-run investment fund that offers UNIL and EPFL students hands-on experience in portfolio management. Our mission rests on three goals: uniting students passionate about investing, developing practical market skills, and preparing members for careers in finance. We collaborate with industry professionals on research and open doors to opportunities across the investment sector.

Bring together investment-passionate students from across the UNIL–EPFL campus.
Build practical skills by managing a real portfolio in live markets.
Launch careers in the finance industry through partners, events, and alumni.
Our Journey
Our story
From four undergraduates in 2019 to the largest student-run fund in Switzerland.
Foundation
Founded on April 3, 2019 by four first-year undergraduates with a strong interest in investment management. Five additional members joined to finalize the project through legal complexities and the COVID-19 period.
Largest on campus
IS became the largest student association by active members and reached CHF 10,000 in assets under management with the support of private institutions.
Macro reviews
Beyond portfolio management, the society expanded into conferences, blogging, and monthly macro reviews read across the campus and beyond.
Podcast & certificate
Launch of the IS podcast — and five members created the Market Monopoly certificate in Swissquote's inaugural Campus Challenge, selected for official SIX listing (ISIN: CH1481470248).
Listed on SIX
Our trading certificate
In 2025, five of our members took part in Swissquote's inaugural Campus Challenge and designed the Market Monopoly certificate, a strategy focused on dominant firms operating in monopolistic and oligopolistic markets. The certificate was selected for official listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

The Legacy
Where our alumni go
